Description
Chamfer Bits are commonly used to route a decorative bevel profile.They can also be used to create angled staves for making boxes. The 45° chamfer bit is used for 4-sided boxes. The 30° chamfer bit is used for 6-sided boxes.The 22-1/2° chamfer bit is used for 8-sided boxes.
The chamfer angle is measured from the shank. A 30° chamfer bit has a 30° angle between the cutting edge and the shank.See the figure to the right.
