Description
PAX 22 inch Panel Saw
For years we’ve searched for reasonably-priced, professional-quality, western-style carpenter’s saws. You know, the kind Disston, Stanley and Sandvik used to make. All we wanted were well-shaped wooden handles, brass buttons, taper-ground blades, a choice of rip or crosscut teeth and decent steel. Well, Thomas Flinn & Co. is making great hand saws in the U.K. In fact, they’re the last company doing so. Flinn’s PAX Panel saws have fine alloy-steel blades that are taper-ground and hand-sharpened with a breasted toothline. The two-tone handles are steamed beech and have solid brass screws and a brass PAX medallion.
Features
Taper-ground hand saw blades are ground to be progressively thinner from the toothline to the back of the saw. This prevents binding in the cuts. The breasted toothline is slightly convex to match the natural shape of your sawing stroke. Each saw comes with a plastic tooth guard.
Tooth Patterns
We offer 22 inch PAX Panel Saws in three patterns: 5ppi (4.5tpi) rip, 8ppi (7tpi) crosscutand 11ppi (10tpi) crosscut. At these prices, you can afford a rip saw and a crosscut sawfor about the same price as a singlepanel saw from other makers.
