Description

The Kershaw Orange Leek Pocket Knife (1660OR) is a premium American-made pocket knife, meticulously designed by Ken Onion for everyday utility and efficient performance. Its striking bright orange handle, crafted from anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, is more than just an aesthetic choice; it features a fade-resistant, scratch-resistant dye permanently bonded to the material, ensuring its vibrant appearance endures through regular use. This eye-catching color also makes the knife easy to locate. At the core of the Leek’s functionality is its 3-inch blade, made from high-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel. This particular steel, developed in collaboration between Kershaw and Sandvik, is engineered to provide a razor-sharp edge right out of the box and maintain that sharpness over time, while also being easy to resharpen when needed. The blade’s bead-blasted finish helps to conceal minor scratches from use, maintaining the knife’s refined look. Featuring Kershaw’s renowned SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, the blade deploys quickly and smoothly with just a push on the ambidextrous flipper. A robust liner lock securely holds the blade open during use, and for added safety, the Tip-Lock slider keeps the blade firmly closed when folded. Slim, lightweight at just 2.4 ounces, and boasting a reversible pocketclip, the Kershaw Orange Leek is an ideal choice for anyone seeking a reliable, high-visibility everyday carry knife that blends practical functionality with a distinctive style.

  • To close the blade: Carefully locate the liner lock inside the handle, which is a metal bar pressing against the base of the blade. Push this liner lock bar to the side, away from the blade’s tang. This will disengage the lock, allowing the blade to pivot freely back into the handle.
  • To engage the Tip-Lock (blade closed): Once the blade is fully closed, slide the Tip-Lock slider mechanism, typically found near the pivot point on the spine of the handle, into its locked position. This secures the blade in the closed position, preventing accidental opening while carrying.
  • To disengage the Tip-Lock (before opening): Before opening the blade, slide the Tip-Lock slider back into its unlocked position. The blade will not open if the Tip-Lock is engaged.
