GTX is the brand name for a plastic (actually, the brand name is Noryl GTX from GE). The generic name is PA+PPE. GTX is a plastic alloy. It is a mixture of Nylon and polyphenylene ether. The plastic has good heat resistance and chemical resistance, as well as having stiffness and good impact resistance. Because of these qualities, GTX is often used for body panels in automotive applications. You will find GTX in Saturn fenders, tractor trailer body panels, Mitsubishi Outlander fenders, BMW fenders, Harley Davidson fairings and many other applications. This package contains 1 lb. (0.45 kg) of GTX plastic welding rods. Each rod measures 12 inches (30 cm) long and is 3/8th inch (9.5 mm) wide by 1/16th inch (1.6 mm) thick. There are approximately 100 rods (30.5 m) in 1 lb.
