Description
Gränsfors Bruk handles are designed for a firm and comfortable grip. The handles aremade from hickory, the perfect wood as it is both strong and flexible, with long,parallel fibers. They are finished with warm linseed oil and beeswax for durability and luster.
The wood is dried before turning. This is so that the wood will not dry out any furtherand shrink after the axe head has been set on the handle. One of the most common causesof an axe head coming loose from its handle is that a green, undried handle has beenused, which then dries out, shrinks and comes loose.
All handles – except the Small Hatchet and Outdoor Axe hadles – include a wooden wedge andthree-legged iron wedge. The Small Hatchet and Outdoor Axe handles include only a wooden wedge- these handles may crack if an iron wedge is used.
