Benchcrafted Moxon Vise Hardware
The Benchcrafted Moxon vise is designed to clamp to any workbench as a way of holdingworkpieces at the ideal height for sawing dovetails and other joints in the end of aworkpiece. We offer the Benchcrafted hardware with which you can build your own Moxon viseby adding the vise jaws and means of attachment to your bench from wood that you provide.
The Benchcrafted Moxon vise uses the same precision rolled acme screws as Benchcrafted’sfamous Tail Vise and Glide Leg Vise. As on those vises, the mass of the cast iron handwheels combined with the bench screws’ polished acme threads allow the hand wheels to spin freely,drawing the jaws together effortlessly for rapid, easy adjustment.The hardware is manufactured entirely in the USA.
The Benchcrafted hardware consists of two 5″ cast iron hand wheels tapped for 3/4″ x 8tpi, two 8″ precision rolled carbon steel acme screws, four 3/4″ x 8 tpi nuts, and a pieceofcrubber (rubberized cork) to mount on the inside of the movable jaw for an absolutely firm grip.
