SPECIFICATIONS:
- Included in the product: Amflo Hose Crimping Tool (Model 855)
- Five hardened steel dies: 31/64″, 17/32″, 37/64″, 5/8″, 11/16″
HOW TO USE:
- Select the Correct Die: Choose a die from the included set that is appropriate for the outer diameter (O.D.) of your hose and ferrule combination. It’s often best to start with a slightly larger die and work down.
- Prepare Hose and Fitting: Slide the ferrule onto the end of your air hose, followed by the hose barb. Ensure the hose end is clean and properly inserted into the barb.
- Position for Crimping: Place the ferrule and hose barb assembly into the jaws of the crimping tool, aligning the ferrule within the selected die.
- Initial Crimp: Gradually close the tool handles to apply light pressure to the ferrule. Rotate the hose and ferrule within the tool to ensure even crimping around the circumference.
- Adjust and Tighten: Continue closing the handles and applying pressure, incrementally tightening the crimp. If necessary, adjust to a smaller die for a tighter crimp, making light passes and rotating the hose until a secure, uniform crimp is achieved.
- Inspect: After crimping, visually inspect the ferrule to ensure it is evenly compressed around the hose, creating a secure, leak-free connection.
