Clifton O1 Cryo Plane Iron

Clifton Bench Plane cutting irons are made from 01 steel that is now cryogenically treated. This cutting iron has a hardness of 60 to 62 Rockwell C hardness and the new cryogenic treatment means these blades will hold their edge for longer. This ensures that Clifton blades take an edge better than most other blades and hold it for a longer period of time.

These blades are 3.6mm thick and so give it increased rigidity. They are then accurately ground, embossed with the brand name and then individually checked for hardness. Wiped with oil after use to protect from rust and finger marks, these blades will serve you some excellent planing work.

Clifton irons fit most common Bailey-pattern planes – Clifton, Stanley, Record and other brands

• 1-3/4″ width (45mm) – fits #3 planes
• 2″ width (50mm) – fits #4 & 5 planes
• 2-3/8″ width (60mm) – fits #4-1/2, 5-1/2, 6 & 7 planes
